About Us

Welcome to the Tasman Swim Club Incorporated.

We are a non-profit club for those who enjoy swimming, and who want to compete against their peers. The age of swimmers ranges from 6 to over 18.

The Club, together with its coaching and training partner the Tasman Magic Academy at the Richmond Aquatic Centre, train all year round, primarily based at the Richmond Aquatic Centre with our senior swimmers also training at Nayland Pool during the summer.

Squad sessions are as follows:

Swim SquadTraining Sessions per Week
Junior ( 8-11yrs) 2 - 3
Intermediate (10-12yrs) 5
Age Group (11-14yrs) 6
Youth (14yrs plus) 9

All club members are encouraged to participate in swimming competitions (meets) which range from local inter-club carnivals through to national/international level competitions.

The Club, together with Tasman Magic Academy, hold Squad Racing nights on the last Wednesday of every month so that all members can gain some competition experience in a fun environment and socialise with each other.

All swimmers first join Tasman Magic Academy of Swimming which is owned by CLM, an Auckland based company. The Academy does all the swim training and coaching of the swimmers, and this is run by Daniel Bell who is the Head Coach. It is Daniel, who decides which squad is appropriate for each swimmer. The Academy is a training organisation only - it is not a registered swim club.

When a swimmer becomes a competitive swimmer they then join Tasman Swim Club which registers them with Swimming New Zealand and administers all their competitive swim meets and needs.

If you are new to the region and would be interested in joining us or have a child who wants to take their swimming further, please contact the club secretary through our Contact Us tab.
